Cos’ è il lavoro a distanza?
Il lavoro a distanza è un tipo lavoro che consente di lavorare al di fuori di un ambiente di ufficio tradizionale e si basa sul concetto che il lavoro non deve essere svolto in un luogo specifico per essere fatto bene.
Invece di recarsi in ufficio ogni giorno per lavorare dalla loro scrivania, i dipendenti in smart working possono lavorare da dove vogliono. Le persone hanno la possibilità di progettare le loro giornate in modo che le loro vite professionali e personali possano coesistere pacificamente. Soprattutto in questi ultimi tempi di Covid, c’è stato un profondo cambiamento culturale in quello che la società considerava il luogo di lavoro appropriato: l’ufficio, che è stato, in parte, sostituito con il lavoro a distanza: casa.
Come funziona lo smart working?
Ci sono molti modi in cui le persone possono lavorare da remoto. Questa è la bellezza del lavoro a distanza: le persone possono scegliere di lavorare nel modo e negli orari che più gli piace. In generale, la maggior parte delle persone lavorano a distanza per gran parte della settimana ma devono recarsi, a volte, di persona in ufficio.
Cos’è lo smart working?
Alcuni lavoratori in smart working sfruttano appieno le opportunità che uno stile di vita e di lavoro a distanza offre loro. Oltre a impostare i propri programmi in modo che siano in grado di lavorare ogni volta che sono più produttivi o creativi, alcuni dipendenti da remoto decidono di lasciarsi alle spalle le loro routine tradizionali e mettersi in viaggio e continuare a lavorare da un altro paese. Purtroppo attualmente, viste la attuale situazione sanitaria, questo non è possibile.
Perché le persone amano lo smart working?
Perchè qualcuno dovrebbe scegliere di lavorare al di fuori di un ambiente d’ufficio e, meglio ancora, perché il suo capo dovrebbe lasciarglielo fare? Ci sono una moltitudine di vantaggi che il lavoro a distanza garantisce sia per i dipendenti che per i datori di lavoro, che vanno da una maggiore produttività, a lavoratori più felici e più sani.
Analizziamo alcuni dei vantaggi:
Stile di vita flessibile
Il motivo più ovvio per cui le persone vogliono lavorare a distanza è perché offre loro uno stile di vita più flessibile. Quando non devono stare chiusi 8 ore in un ufficio, i dipendenti possono concentrarsi sulle cose che più contano per loro. Se un lavoratore da remoto è anche un genitore, ha la possibilità di iniziare a lavorare prima nel corso della giornata in modo che possa essere presente quando i bambini tornano a casa da scuola o prendersi una pausa durante il giorno per un appuntamento dal medico. Un altro vantaggio è la possibilità che ha un dipendente in smart working di formarsi ulteriormente nel proprio campo. Poiché non sono soggetti a un orario rigoroso in un luogo di lavoro fisso, una persona può seguire un master o un corso di formazione durante il giorno e raddoppiare il proprio lavoro la sera, o viceversa.
Salute e benessere migliori
I dipendenti da remoto sono notevolmente meno stressati e hanno un morale più alto rispetto ai loro colleghi in ufficio. In un rapporto pubblicato dalla Royal Society for Public Health nel Regno Unito, è emerso che il 55% dei lavoratori tradizionali si sentiva più stressato a causa del proprio tragitto giornaliero per raggiungere il luogo di lavoro. Eliminando il tragitto giornaliero e consentendo ai dipendenti di lavorare in un ambiente in cui si sentono a proprio agio, i datori di lavoro creano dipendenti meno stressati. Basta dare un’occhiata a questa statistica: secondo uno studio del 2014: il 69% dei lavoratori a distanza ha avuto un minore tasso di assenteismo rispetto ai dipendenti tradizionali. I lavoratori da remoto, semplicemente, non sentivano il bisogno di saltare il lavoro senza una ragione più che valida.
Rinnovata passione per il proprio lavoro
I dipendenti in smart working tendono a dare il loro meglio. Sono più ispirati da ciò che li circonda e possono filtrare le distrazioni ambientali come meglio credono. In effetti, l’opportunità di lavorare a distanza è vista come una motivazione o una ricompensa per il loro eccellente lavoro e sono stimolati a fare sempre meglio per continuare a vivere e lavorare a distanza.
Maggiore produttività
Uno degli argomenti più propagandati per il lavoro a distanza è la maggiore produttività che deriva dalla sua flessibilità. È accertato che i dipendenti da remoto si impegnano maggiormente nel loro lavoro rispetto ai loro colleghi in ufficio. Secondo lo State and Work Productivity Report, il 65% dei dipendenti ritiene che lavorare a distanza aumenterebbe la loro produttività e i loro capi sono d’accordo. Due terzi dei manager che sono stati intervistati hanno segnalato un aumento della produttività complessiva dei propri dipendenti che lavorano a distanza.
Risparmi
I dipendenti a distanza inoltre sono una fonte di risparmio. Se il team lavora completamente da remoto le aziende hanno una fortissima diminuzione delle spese generali, come i costi per affitto e i mobili per ufficio. Secondo alcune ricerche si stima che i datori di lavoro possono risparmiare diverse migliaia di euro all’anno per ogni lavoratore a distanza.
Coinvolgimento dei dipendenti
Oltre ai maggiori margini di profitti e una qualità di lavoro superiore, i datori offrono opportunità di lavoro in smart working per mantenere i propri dipendenti felici e coinvolti. Quasi il 75% dei dipendenti intervistati in uno studio di Softchoice ha dichiarato che avrebbe lasciato il proprio lavoro per un’altro che offriva la possibilità di lavoro a distanza.
Vediamo ora alcuni luoghi comuni che tendono a screditare lo smart working:
I lavoratori a distanza non comunicano con i colleghi
È vero che i dipendenti in smart working non sono presenziano alle riunioni personalmente. Non partecipano fisicamente alle conversazioni o negli incontri dell’happy hour, ma con le videochiamate possono partecipare alle riunioni e dialogare con i colleghi.
I lavoratori a distanza sono sempre a disposizione
Questa è una paura sia dei dipendenti che dei loro datori di lavoro. I dipendenti apprezzano il lavoro da remoto perché dà loro la libertà di organizzare il proprio programma lavorativo, non perché consente loro di essere disponibili 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7. Neanche i datori di lavoro vogliono che i dipendenti da remoto lavorino ininterrottamente per paura che si esauriscano e perdano la passione in ciò che fanno. Sarebbe importante all’inizio di un contratto di lavoro a distanza stabilire in quali ore un dipendente deve essere disponibile e quali ore della giornata sono flessibili.
I lavoratori a distanza non lavorano effettivamente
Lo stereotipo di un lavoratore a distanza è che stia tutto il giorno a letto in pigiama, lavorando una volta ogni tanto, ma certamente non allo stesso livello di chi va in ufficio ogni giorno. Sappiamo che questo semplicemente non è vero. Ogni lavoratore in smart working ha il proprio stile: c’è quello che si sveglia la mattina presto fa un po di jogging e dopo la doccia inizia a lavorare in tuta, c’è invece quello che si prepara per la giornata come se andasse in un ufficio, vestito eleganti e tutto il resto.
Visti i vantaggi che ciò comporta, molti, sicuramente, amerebbero lavorare a distanza ma quali sono i lavori che si possono fare in smart working?
